Ontario cannabis rules every Bradford shopper should know

Cannabis retail in Ontario is regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Health Canada sets the national framework under the Cannabis Act. Here's what Bradford residents need to know before visiting Ashario Aurora:

• Legal age: 19+ with valid government-issued photo ID. No exceptions.
• Personal possession limit: 30 grams of dried cannabis (or equivalent) in public.
• Edible THC cap: 10mg per package, federally mandated.
• Payment: Debit and most major credit cards accepted; cash always works.
• No public consumption: Cannabis can't be consumed in vehicles, parks, or workplaces, only on private property where permitted.

According to Statistics Canada, Ontario's legal cannabis retail sales surpassed $1.9 billion annually as of recent reporting: a sign that legal stores like Ashario have largely displaced the unregulated market across York Region and Simcoe County.

What Bradford-area customers ask our budtenders most

Our Aurora budtender team sees a steady stream of Bradford, Holland Landing, and Newmarket regulars every week. The most common first-visit question? "What's the highest-THC flower you have in stock today?" The honest answer: it shifts weekly. Cultivars like MAC 1, GMO Cookies, and Tiger Blood routinely test above 28% total THC, but specific batches rotate. Calling ahead or checking the online menu the morning of your visit is the most reliable approach.

The second most common question is about vape compatibility. If you've bought a 510-thread cart from another retailer, our staff can confirm whether your battery will pair with stock from brands like Foray, Roilty, or Back Forty. Bring the battery in: we'll check fit at the counter.
