The store is open 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM every single day, including statutory holidays, making it one of the latest-closing cannabis retailers along the Yonge Street corridor between Newmarket and Richmond Hill. If you're searching "dispensary open now aurora" after 9 PM, this is your closest licensed option.

The Aurora storefront sits just south of Wellington Street on the east side of Yonge, with free customer parking and quick access from Highway 404 (exit Wellington Street East, then west to Yonge). Walk-in shoppers can browse the full menu in person, and our budtenders are trained to help newcomers and regulars alike navigate cannabis product categories including flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, concentrates, and accessories.

A few things that set the Ashario Cannabis Aurora location apart:

• Late-night staffing: Full budtender coverage right up to 11 PM | no skeleton crew or limited service in the last hour
• Sunday hours unchanged: Unlike some Ontario retailers that close early on Sundays, Aurora keeps 7 AM to 11 PM seven days a week
• York Region inventory: Curated selection reflecting what Aurora, Newmarket, King City, and Oak Ridges customers actually buy, heavy on craft Ontario flower and disposable vapes

Ashario Cannabis Thornton: The Closest Late-Night Store for South Simcoe

Ashario Cannabis Thornton is located at 239 Barrie Street, Thornton, ON L0L 2N0, phone +1-249-733-9333, also open 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. For anyone searching "late night weed store thornton" or looking for the nearest cannabis store open in south Simcoe County, this is the only AGCO-licensed retailer with consistent late hours serving Thornton, Cookstown, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Innisfil, and the southern edge of Barrie.

Thornton sits at the intersection of Highway 27 and County Road 88, roughly 15 minutes north of Bradford and 20 minutes south of downtown Barrie. The Barrie Street storefront has dedicated parking and is staffed by budtenders familiar with the rural and commuter customer base: many of whom drive in from surrounding townships specifically because no other licensed retailer in the immediate area stays open past 10 PM. For a deeper look at how online reservations work at this location, see our guide on reserve and pickup cannabis online in Thornton via the Ashario blog.

Why the 11 PM closing time matters

Ontario's Cannabis Licence Act permits licensed retailers to operate between 9 AM and 11 PM. Ashario maximizes this window by opening two hours earlier (7 AM) for the morning commute and staying open until the legal close at 11 PM. This is the latest a cannabis store can legally operate in Ontario, so when you see "open until 11 PM," that's the regulatory ceiling, not a marketing number.

Express Pickup: How to Reserve Cannabis Online Before You Arrive

Ashario Cannabis offers express pickup at all four Ontario locations, including Aurora and Thornton. The process takes under two minutes: browse the menu online, add items to your cart, select your preferred store, and a budtender will pull and bag your order. You pay in-store at pickup (cash or debit) and ID is verified. Ontario law requires every customer to be 19+ regardless of whether the order was placed online.

Express pickup is especially useful for late-evening visits when you want to be in and out quickly. Typical pickup turnaround at Aurora and Thornton is 15 to 30 minutes during weekday afternoons and up to 45 minutes on Friday and Saturday evenings. Our budtenders confirm every order is ready before you arrive, so there's no waiting in line at the counter. Browse the full Ashario Cannabis product collections to start a reservation.

What you'll need at pickup

• Valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 19 years of age or older (Ontario legal age)
• Your order confirmation (email or order number)
• Payment: most Ashario locations accept cash and debit; check the specific store page for current accepted methods

If your ID doesn't match the name on the reservation, that's fine. Ontario regulations only require that the person picking up is of legal age, not that they personally placed the order. However, the budtender will refuse the sale if any signs of intoxication are present, as required under AGCO regulations.

What Aurora & Thornton Customers Buy Most

Based on what our budtenders see at the till, evening shoppers in Aurora and Thornton lean toward three product categories: disposable vapes, pre-rolls, and infused gummies. Late-night customers in particular tend to choose ready-to-use formats. They're not browsing for an hour, they want something convenient and immediate.

Popular Licensed Producer brands stocked at both stores include Spinach, Good Supply, Back Forty, Redecan, Pure Sunfarms, General Admission, Wana, and Carmel Cannabis. Inventory rotates weekly, so a specific SKU available Tuesday may sell out by Friday. If you're after a specific cultivar, reserving online is the safest way to guarantee it's waiting for you. For format comparisons before you visit, check the Ashario Cannabis blog which covers vapes vs edibles, flower selection, and strain reviews relevant to current Ontario inventory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cannabis store open now in Aurora, Ontario?

Yes. Ashario Cannabis Aurora at 15114 Yonge Street is open every day from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, including weekends and statutory holidays. If you're checking before 11 PM, the store is open. Ontario's Cannabis Licence Act prohibits licensed retailers from operating past 11 PM, so any "24-hour cannabis store" advertised online is not a legal AGCO-licensed retailer. Those are unlicensed operations and purchasing from them is illegal under Canadian federal law.

What's the nearest cannabis store open late in Thornton?

Ashario Cannabis Thornton at 239 Barrie Street is open until 11 PM nightly and is the closest licensed late-night cannabis retailer for residents of Thornton, Cookstown, Bond Head, Bradford, Churchill, and south Innisfil. From the Highway 400 / Innisfil Beach Road area, the store is about a 12-minute drive west on County Road 89 and then south on Barrie Street. Call +1-249-733-9333 to confirm specific product availability before driving in.

Can I order cannabis online for same-day pickup in Aurora?

Yes. Place your order through the Ashario website, select Aurora as your pickup location, and your order will typically be ready within 15 to 30 minutes during regular hours. You'll receive a confirmation when it's pulled and bagged. Bring valid 19+ photo ID and your order number to the store at 15114 Yonge Street. Payment is completed at the counter: orders are not paid for online, which means there's no charge if you can't make it in.

How late can a cannabis store legally stay open in Ontario?

Under the Ontario Cannabis Licence Act and AGCO Registrar's Standards, licensed cannabis retailers may operate between 9:00 AM and 11:00 PM. Ashario opens earlier (7 AM) under the same regulations, which permit opening before 9 AM in many municipalities. 11 PM is the absolute legal closing time: no AGCO-licensed retailer is permitted to sell cannabis after that hour, and any store claiming to be open 24 hours or past midnight is operating illegally.

Do I need to be a Canadian resident to buy cannabis at Ashario Aurora or Thornton?

No. Ontario cannabis retail does not require Canadian residency. You only need to be 19 years of age or older and present valid government-issued photo ID. Acceptable ID includes a Canadian driver's licence, passport (from any country), Ontario Photo Card, Canadian permanent resident card, or Canadian Forces ID. International tourists visiting Aurora or Barrie-area attractions can legally purchase cannabis at Ashario provided they meet the age and ID requirements. Note that cannabis cannot be taken across the Canadian border in either direction.

What payment methods does Ashario accept at Aurora and Thornton?

Both the Aurora and Thornton stores accept cash and Interac debit. Credit card acceptance varies by location and is best confirmed by calling ahead. Aurora at +1-905-503-6770 or Thornton at +1-249-733-9333. ATMs are available at or near both locations. For express pickup orders, you pay in-store when you arrive. There is no pre-payment, which means your reservation costs nothing if your plans change.
